Franshoek is a working farm. A herd of 200+ mixed cattle are holistically managed and raised on the veld grasses of the farm. We endeavor to serve only our own grass fed, hormone-free beef to our guests. Several lands on Franshoek have been planted to Seraciae Lespediza, a highly nutritious, drought-tolerant, perennial legume. This high production fodder will be used to raise cattle, feed horses and game.

Nassau Farm, our neighbours, boasts a 1000 tree, 30 year old cherry orchard. Every year, around the 10th of September, these trees are in full blossom. This is a beautiful time to stroll through the orchard. Harvesting starts around the last week in October until the end of November. The annual Ficksburg Cherry Festival is held every year on the third weekend in November. Make your accommodation bookings early.

We believe there is a viable future in the farming of fish as natural and wild reserves are running dry. We are working on a way to increase the bass production and harvesting in our dams.

Our future vision for Franshoek Farm is to covert the farm, over a period of time to a wildlife conservation area. To begin work towards this end, we have developed a game investment contractual opportunity for those wishing to support wildlife in an “ownership” capacity. For more information, please contact Tracey.

At certain times we do have schooled polo ponies for sale. For enquiries contact Tracey.
